The breath is an important link between our body, mind, and spirit. Conscious control of the breath allows us control of the mind, and as a result, of the body. Pranayama (also known as Yoga Breathwork) greatly improves both cardiovascular fitness and concentration. It is a highly recommended addition to your Yoga practice. It very effectively reduces the effects of stress on both the body and mind, and is quite beneficial to those with high blood pressure and mild asthma. Please note that Pranayama is not recommended for those with acute asthma.
