Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues of the body that the more active styles of Yoga practice do not. It achieves stimulation and release of the tendons, ligaments, bones, and joints through long holds and a deeper awareness. Suitable for all student levels, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of the muscles. Highly beneficial for all, Yin Yoga focuses upon the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. No previous experience required. Students are asked to bring two towels to class with them. Yoga blocks and foam rollers are also a good addition if you have them.
