Kripalu Yoga is a practice of self-awareness, self-empowerment, and personal growth. This yogic tradition allows the practitioner to access their spirit through the vehicle of the physical body, becoming aware of the interactions of physical, mental, and emotional experience. Through the conscious awareness that arises in this practice, the practitioner releases blockages to their natural essence; energy is freed, and healing occurs on all levels of being.

In this lecture, Hillary Rodrigues, a full professor in the Religious Studies Department at the University of Lethbridge will explore with us the topic of spiritual healing. Ancient Indian texts classify Yoga as one of six proper or traditional Hindu worldviews or philosophies. The full compass of what Yoga can offer a practioner far surpasses mere body, mind, and emotional health. Yoga is about discovering the wholeness that is the foundation of one's essential individuality. From the Eastern philosophical perspective, Yoga suggests that this wholeness is something that is already inherently present. It merely needs to be discovered!

In this lecture, Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner and educator, Dr. Kim Graham, will teach attendees how to find balance in everyday life by using the principles and teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Deeply rooted in Daoist thinking, TCM applies the rules taken from the natural world and applies them to the human body. Learn how you interact with your environment, how the emotions, foods and colours you choose affect you and how you may already instinctively be trying to create internal balance.
By incorporating these ancient yet simplistic teachings into everyday life, you will be more able to recognize and apply these lessons, and see that balance is reflected all around and within us.
