This certification is required to become a recognized Yoga Instructor, allowing you to teach in a wide variety of Yoga settings (fitness centres, community centres, group homes, and private residences).
The YFL Certification is a BCRPA approved, nationally recognized 3-part program that trains yoga instructors to teach in a fitness and health-related setting. The YFL is a required component of the internationally recognized RDYT200 program.

The YFL Part 1 is an educational 2-day course that gives instructors the required tools to create safe, balanced, and enjoyable yoga-fitness classes. After this course, students will be able, and expected to log 15 teaching hours prior to the YFL Part 3. The YFL Part 1 carries a prerequisite of 25 hours of anatomy study. This can be accomplished via a fitness, massage therapy, or medical certification, college or university course study. The YFL Part 2 is an informative 1-day course that guides instructors through the Yoga industry so that they may more clearly choose their path. They will understand liability, safety, and ethical issues that arise as a yoga instructor and how to deal with them. They will learn how to work with special populations such as injuries, pregnancy, hypertension, asthma, rehabilitation, and post-operative care. Prop usage will be introduced as a tool for dealing with individual limitations within yoga practice. The YFL Part 2 can be taken as an individual course or as part of the complete YFL Certification. The YFL Part 3 is a 2-day course that builds upon the poses learnt in the YFL Part 1. Instructors will be introduced to the classical Sun Salutation series, and taught how to use it as a building block for the dynamic practice of Power Yoga. Participants will receive teaching feedback within this course to further their group teaching skills. Upon passing the written exam, they will be granted the nationally recognized YFL certification. The YFL Part 3 carries a prerequisite of 15 logged yoga teaching hours completed after taking the YFL Part 1.
