EXPERIENCE MATTERS

  • Kavita Maharaj is the founder of the Red Door Yoga Studio. She has been a traditionally practicing Yogi for over 40 years to date, having Mentored under her father, Krishna Maharaj Sharma, a traditional Yogi in the Ganapathi Sachchidananda lineage.

    Kavita founded the Red Door Yoga Studio in 2004, and in 2006 she began training Yoga Teachers throughout British Columbia and Alberta.

    She is a certified Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist, E-RYT500 Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance, and a Trainer of Fitness Leaders (TFL) with the BCRPA.

  • Every member of the Red Door Yoga Teaching Team has been personally trained, hand-picked, and mentored by Kavita, and are dedicated to the Yogic path not just as a form of physical exercise, but as a life philosophy as well.

    Kavita has trained each Red Door Yoga Teaching Team member to be able to teach a variety of Yoga practice styles. She has also ensured that they are well trained to help with a myriad of physical injuries and/or issues to meet student needs.
